The idea for this website came from the lack of information about the black experience in pretty much every aspect of our lives… in government, health, storytelling, publishers, education, and so on. So my goal is to gather information about the black experience, organize it and display it in a way that is helpful to you the reader.

Instead of creating the website behind closed doors, I decided to build it in the public eye. So, you will not see pages that just display “under construction” or “coming soon”. However, you will see pages that are being creating and edited in real time.

Why am I just seeing this now? I first came across it on July 5, 2020 after watching Hamilton online. They had a link to an interview here, but I just love the articles on it.

VOGUE

So when I think of online and style, I think VOGUE.

I love the wit and quick turnaround of this magazine.

I noticed that they are trying to catch up with serving their black readers. It is definitely about time. “Times Up” is also about discrimination and inequality . So many magazines cater only to a white audience, especially when talking hair and the garment colour. Let’s see if they keep and even build momentum.
